      Even a full time employee is still a contractor

      Pros

      The benefits are excellent. The work is good. The opportunities to move are available.

      Cons

      Management loves you as long as the customer likes you and the contract is ongoing. When the contract ends so does your employment even though you are a "full time employee" of SAIC. Be prepared to treat this job as a job. Making a career at SAIC requires being in the executive management pool.

      Pros

      Good benefits with numerous plan options and 401K benefits. Very generous paid time off accrual.

      Cons

      Human Resources within the Commercial Business Unit (currently being sold to Wipro in India) is an embarrassment. They are completely incompetent and lack the basic communication skills HR should demand. When SAIC longer requires your services, employees at ALL levels are treated with utter disregard and indifference regardless of their years of service.

      Pros

      Liberal work from home policy. Decent Career path, but only if you are a project manager. Not so much if you are technical.

      Cons

      They recruited based on one business model, but several years later they abandoned that business model but would not admit it to their employees.
