Pros

SAIC provides a stable work environment where information is shared freely and adherence to ethical professional standards is fostered. The additional health and retirement benefits match industry standards. There is also a highly visible training program where one can advance ones professional skills and therefore career.

Cons

There are slightly lower than average salaries for software engineers. An employee ownership program whereby each employee could purchase premium company stock at a large discount has been downsized. At times it seems that promotions aren't given where they seem justifiable.

Pros

SAIC hires decent people to work with who are hard working and really take their job seriously. There are a few bad weeds in the bunch - but I assume that's to be expected. The benefits are decent, however they're decreasing with time due to 'budget savings'.

Cons

Upper management will stab you in the back! If you have been promised something, get it in writing. Don't believe that any level of management is your friend. I have learned this the hard way multiple times. It is very frustrating and disheartening. The level of moral in SAIC has deminished tremendously over the past 11 years that I worked there.
