Pros

Although SAIC is a large company I thought it had a very high proportion of smart people working for it. By smart I don't mean just book smart, I mean business savvy smart as well.

Cons

I worked in a relatively new business area around business consulting and I think the company was still trying to get its hands around the notion of being consultants rather than delivering a hard product (related to SAIC's roots as a engineering and hard sciences company).

Pros

Good pay and opportunities to advance if you have the proper security clearances. Lots of work in very diverse fields and opportunities to move between Business Units if you have the proper skills. Lots of attention paid to keeping recent hires motivated and retained.

Cons

Working managers to death. Some departments are flexible but others are will drive you unrelentingly to an early retirement. Longer term employees are not valued and management seems to be unconcerned about their satisfaction; seemingly happy to see them leave.
