Great place to work, but you are a contractor and when it completes you have to find other work.

Pros

Highly respected company in the government sector Workers are held to a very high standard of ethics Excellent pay and benefits Outstanding online training opportunities. Great place for a career if the opportunities are available.

Cons

As others have said, the biggest problem is that advancement and career options are completely dependent on the size of your division. If you aren't in one of the largest divisions then you are pretty much done with SAIC once your contract is complete.

People you work with are usually very smart Opportunities to work with some interesting technologies Some opportunity for travel Pay and Benefits pretty good for a UK company Fairly flexible with working arrangements

Cons

Poorly Organised Competitive nature of the internal organisation leaves a lot to be desired Not enough trainning provided Career progression difficult to visualise

Pros

While SAIC pays my salary, I'm contracted out to the USAF. I work at a remote location but I have very flexible work schedule, no micro-management for my tasks, and easy access to supervisor and manager (via land-line and email but they are always responsive). Salary increase and bonus have been average so far, but I've always gotten them. Average 401K plan. Lots of opportunity for travel (job wise).

Cons

Pay not up to par with what the company gets for the contract.
