Pros

Ideal organization to be a boss there. Whatever level of manager you are - you will be comfortable there. Zero commitment, not accountable for anything - it's a dream job.

Cons

Transparency, career growth, recognition - you won't find any of these in this company. The motto of this company is "I'm the boss you are an idiot." If you want to join this company as a personal contributor - be prepared for the mentioned treatment. Or, rather, apply straight for the management position. Career growth: To cut the long story short - you'll need to quit the company to get to better position. Some people are waiting for 5 years for the next step in their career. If your manager gets promotion, and there is a vacancy for you - relax, you won't get promoted. Instead, HR will work on finding someone "more appropriate" to fill the gap. You'll stay where you are, and next couple of years will be spent to "prove you are capable" to some stranger, who just joined. Transparency: In general, it's very difficult to get a consistent feedback from HR and from the management, regarding whatever question, related to career development path, salary or expected deliverable. Recently, the senior management had recognized that their All-Hands meetings don't have any value. People don't understand, don't listen and don't trust. What the management did to improve the situation... Yes, they made those meetings to happen more frequently. The situation gets even worse, if you are not aware of additional connections in the organizational structure. It's quite common that managers of different parts of the organization might play ping-pong together, or be an ex-couple, or still sleeping together. Imagine, you have reported someone's misbehavior to HR, taking all precautions and with strict confidentiality. What will happen if that someone has shared interests with the HR representative? Yes, it's you who gets punished. Or, another scenario - you kicked someone from the meeting room you had booked one month ago, but she is in contact with HR or your manager, what happens next - you get another punishment. Recognition: There is a game, named "yearly review" in this company. Every year you and your manager will set the goals. After the goals are set, you'll work on achieving them, and if you have got all them done, you would expect the bonus, right? Not in this company. After you have achieved something, there is a special "calibration session", where some strangers are deciding if your goal setting was adequate. If you did not predict the company future and aligned your yearly goals incorrectly - you take all the risks, and after calibration session, you'll be told, that company did not need whatever of what you have delivered, so no bonus for you. That's funny - goals are set together with your manager, but it's you who takes all the risks.
