Pros

The vast majority of colleagues are skilled, highly collaborative, and strive to make the company successful. Salary and benefits are decent.

Cons

I was proud to work for SAP for a long time, but the culture in recent years has shifted to an exclusive focus on maximizing the stock price and reducing financial rewards (e.g., RSUs), with little regard for employee morale. While the US is the largest market, there have been mass layoffs here each year, focused on older workers and higher salaries. Replacement roles are at lower salary bands and are usually backfilled in India. Power and decision-making have become highly centralized in Germany, with strategy changing each year to follow the latest advice from McKinsey.

Pros

Flexible work from home. Generally smart people at least in the sales department.. unless they all leave after this year.

Cons

After several years in sales at SAP - this used to be one of the top companies in big tech to work for. In effort of slashing the cost of sales, they have completely eliminated the perks and compensation for being in sales at SAP. Trying to figure out how commissions works is a full time job and science project. Trying to hold SAP accountable for actually paying commissions in full has become impossible. Quotas have doubled while territories shrunk, accelerators removed, and other BS policies like holding back 30% of commissions because of adoption factors which are always out of your control. This year, I expect to make less than half the total cash than what i used to make at SAP, and I don't see that changing in '26. Our best people are leaving. Our recent internal employee satisfaction survey scored as low as 1/10 or 2/10 in many areas such as "would you recommend SAP as a place to work".
