Great culture, nice people and good opportunity to do many things

Pros

SAP is the only relevant software vendor outside the US and that is not without a reason. It has fostered a great global culture with executives, important locations and people from all over the world. I have worked at SAP for 8 years (including my student internship) and I have almost only met helpful and nice people both in Germany and the US. Even with senior executives the experience were mostly good. The company has given me the opportunity to work in the US straight out of university for which I will be always grateful. I have had great mentors and am very lucky to be where I am in my career. SAP is financially generous to its employees and allows for a fantastic work-life balance both on campus with health options (gym, running track), free food and access to the latest gadgets. Also off-campus, the company allows to work from home when needed to enable the employee to attend to personal matters as long as the job is getting done.

Cons

It is somewhat hard to explore new opportunities within the company if you're not working in a hub location like Walldorf, Palo Alto or Newtown Square. That is not a fault of SAP but just a systemic problem of satellite locations. One big problem however is that the top talent program which SAP offers to its employees who are chosen to be in that "special" pool of people is more of a joke as it neither offers opportunity provides access to things other employees don't get...it clearly is not a top talent program.

Pros

Sap is a results driven company. Extremely high level of professionalism from all employees. Some of the most talented people i have worked with. Good work culture with good work-life balance. A great company to work for.

Cons

Strategy keeps on changing frequently with key decisions somehow German centric and politically motivated
