Pros

Great support during transitions, a support team is very impressive when the company just take over, and also very helpful in a confusion moment.

Cons

Upper management controls everything, leaving little room for managers in site to make decisions. Slow response employees issues, which angers the crew and as a result poor collaboration of employees.

Pros

Provides a great management opportunity to those fresh out of college/ those who want business management experience. You learn not only how to be a manager but also how to be a recruiter, and HR representative, Procurement, Payroll Specialist, etc.

Cons

Your job at SBM sucks. You deal with high maintenance customers that do not understand that your company is too cheap to hire more employees. They also do not understand that the work restroom is not their home bathroom. You may also have some customers who love to think that your employees, the janitors, do not exist and therefore are not real people by blatantly causing spills or messes and just leaving it for hours for someone else to take care of. I have come across three situations in my two year span where an adult actually defecated on the floor/walls of the restrooms. It is disgusting what people will do to you and your team (mind you almost all of our customers make an average six figure salary and are, I would believe, to be highly educated). On the other side of the spectrum, almost all of the sites SBM has contracts with are extremely under budgeted. This makes managing a monthly budget/monthly hours extremely unmanageable, making it almost impossible to be green every month. Because of this, sites are under staffed, employees are overworked and are expected to complete work that is meant for two or three people to be accomplished within a 4-6 hour shift. Many times, the managers and supervisors do the manual work. HR is useless and cannot be bothered to do anything, so managers are stuck trying to find their own on call team to help with absenteeism. Also, since the work sucks for the employees, turnover is a revolving door. More than not, managers are working 12-13 hour days instead of 8 do to a huge lack of support from your upper management, other site managers, or from other departments within SBM. You are not paid overtime. Depending on who your manager is, you will often be given harsh criticism that offers no solid help or guidance. Many times, your manager will blame you for the error and pressure you to fix the situation on your own. You will be thrown into the fire at this company. The training that is given is laughable. Be prepared to work tirelessly and be overwhelmingly underpaid for it. Bottom line, the CEO is a crook and a very greedy individual. The company wants to boast this facade that they really care for you and all the other employees but they couldn't give a damn. Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, Area Managers and Account Directors are all out for themselves. The Senior Leadership Team really knows how to take great people and destroy them by making them work like dogs and then turning their backs on them when help is needed the most.

Pros

It is a resume builder, so that you have an exit strategy once you realize that it's the worst company to work for.

Cons

Will work you to death, no initial or ongoing training, no internal support systems, no appreciation or opportunity to advance for those who ACTUALLY have value and know what they're doing.
