Pros

Never thought I'd say this about a sales job, but I leave work feeling good about what I do - helping seniors navigate Medicare isn't just about hitting quotas. Understanding managers. Solid base salary for the non-profit sector, and commissions add up faster than I expected. Also, one of the best 401(k) matches I've seen.

Cons

Appointments in some rural areas require long drives.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We’re happy to know that you find purpose in your work, and enjoy the friendly, collaborative work culture at SCAN. We’re also glad to hear that you find value in our benefits offerings and work-life balance offered at SCAN. Supporting our Rebels (employees) in ways that support their well-being, both professionally and personally, remains a priority at SCAN. We appreciate your thoughtful feedback around the talent of the team as it’s something we’re incredibly proud of. Working in a highly regulated industry like healthcare does mean we have to be thoughtful and deliberate in how we move forward, but we understand the important balance between compliance and agility. As we continue to evolve and expand to meet the needs of our members, we’re always looking for ways to streamline processes where we can. Should you have any additional feedback, please don’t hesitate to share it with your supervisor or a member of the HR team at peoplerelations@scanhealthplan.com at any time.

Strong culture, lots of support for growth

Pros

People throw around the word growth a lot, but it’s not just empty talk here. I’ve been taking on more responsibility and getting support every step of the way. No one expects you to figure things out alone. If you show up ready to get things done, people notice. It’s also refreshing to have an employer that invests in training without rushing the process. Tuition reimbursement is something I didn’t expect, but I already have plans to use it.

Cons

Sales is a tough gig in general, so even if you have tons of support, success is ultimately up to you.
