Great mission and employees - horrible leadership
Pros
The employees and the participants we serve is what keeps me around. I've had the honor of working with incredibly smart and motivated staff and students who are making the world a better place for generations to come.
Cons
Current leadership either does not care about staff or they have incredibly low emotional intelligence. The executive committee has made decisions and policy changes that no one asked for or wanted: WFH changes, unclear promotion criteria and levels, and taking a step back on DEI work and language. Furthermore, while SEO has generated revenue for the past TWO years, they have only provided a 3% (cap) increase to staff salary - all while executive leadership have received 20-50% salary increases during the same time period (seriously - review the recent 990 forms). This is down right unfair, unequitable, and disrespectful to staff who are giving 110% to improve academic and career outcomes for individuals from underserved backgrounds. I predict a huge number of staff turnover due to poor leadership.
