Laid back workplace. Maybe too laid back

After working their exactly one month (hired right after graduation) I was called in, let go, and escorted out. With no explanation. Not one person in that room would look me in the eye, and kept referring me to HR. Convenientntly, no one from HR was at my "out the door" briefing. And no one from HR would return my calls. I am completely mystified. No one, in that month, said anything negative about my work. I signed a year's lease to be close to the company. I am completely devastated. If just one person had taken the time to instruct or tell me what I was doing wrong, I could have fixed it; i could have gotten better. But I honestly have no idea what just happened. I am well aware that New Jersey is an "at will" state. I just honestly thought I had a future there.
