Pros

Job security is high because turnover is high since everyone hates working here

Cons

Terrible wages, absolutely clueless management at every level, extra work intentionally falls on supervisors that don't get paid overtime, clients are treated like gods and employees are treated like less than dirt

Pros

The people with whom you work are always a pro in my opinion. A laboratory position with this company should be seen for what it it: skills building to a better job or a temporary move to hold you over until a better opportunity opens.

Cons

The division in which I worked (Upstream) left almost no personal time; between my hire date in June 2015 through Labor Day, I had 9 days off. Overtime was outrageous but expected by management. This may be a plus for some but I value my personal time much higher than what SGS was paying me to prioritize their needs. Vacation time would rarely be approved by management due to workload prioritization which led to the majority (~75%) of employee vacation time being lost (SGS doesn't compensate or roll over unused vacation time). Unacceptable!

No work contracts for NDT work

Pros

Decent benefits for health and life insurance

Cons

No work available and supervisors don't care. 50 people are sitting at home and they don't answer the phone and if they do they just say there isn't any contracts available so there is high turnover and they act like they can't understand it. They are getting paid and they don't care that the employees that actually do the work aren't getting paid. They promise they are setting up training for advancement in the company. That is always cancelled too. It is a no win situation.
