base salary is per hour, it depends how much you go offshore how much you will make. Get paid by the hour, when offshore you get a bonus (yearly salary reflects offshore bonus already), but when you are at home waiting for to go offshore you dont get paid, it can be couple of days but it can also be up to 6 weeks that you dont work/dont earn. At the beginning is not a consistent paid job, once you move up your rotation get more consistent and so does your pay.

Logistics is terrible, minimum wage for geologist is less than common wages for geologists in Brazil
