      great people, global perspective, great pay, lots of opportunity for those that want it (when the industry is booming)

      "upper management" makes decisions that sometimes make no sense and take no input from "lower levels"

      This is a really really hard job. They pay you a lot, but they will work you like a dog to get it.

      Pros

      Great pay 21.00/hr to start, and time and a half for overtime. And you will get a lot of overtime. 12hr/day 2weeks/3weeks min. I have learned more about t/s electronics in 1 year than I have in 4 years getting my BS

      Cons

      Hope you are single or that you have a very strong family. You will never see them. 120 hour work weeks are common, 12hr/days manditory and that is if you are not working at a wellsite. At a well site 16hr/day min and you wont be coming home for 2weeks/3weeks. Your job is not secure. if oil prices drop, no matter how good a worker you are you are likely going to lose your job. Housing is insane in rock springs, 1 bedroom apartments in the worst area of the city is going to be over 800$
