Pros

If you are willing to move, there are some opportunities to work in other locations, but be careful to evaluate the offer fully. Many in the senior management team are outstanding.

Cons

No work-life balance. The company will push you work at home, and on vacation, since the workload is more than one person can manage. If you don't go with the career path they want for you, you will be looked at negatively and treated negatively. Very controlling managers are promoted. Culture ignores unethical management practices and unstable managers for the sake of results. They will lie about opportunities to drive the interests of the business. Does not support innovation outside of the technical functions. A lot of big egos trying to get to the top.

Pros

Seriously good company to work for. A lot of opportunities to grow in your career if you know how to steer it. Very international environment, exposure to interesting projects, possibility to travel the world, work with people from different countries and cultures. Reasonable and flexible work-life balance, great benefits. If you chose an international mobile career be prepared to lots of travel and moving residence every 3 years. They give you a lot of training during your career so you evolve quick. On-boarding for new hires is well done.

Cons

As soon as oil prices deep below certain value, first thing this company does is it quickly cuts overhead costs. Everyone's job becomes vulnerable, even being a "high potential" or high performer in your team does not guaranty job security when things get hot. This company known to shed 10-25% of its workforce easily. However with Schlumberger experience it should be not a problem to find another job fairly soon elsewhere.

Pros

1. Paycheck will always clear 2. tons of training 3. provide with uniforms to work in.

Cons

I have worked for them for 4 years and now I'm looking for something else to do. I am tired of being treated like a second rate citizen. Finally made enough money to leave the company so Im out. 1. layoff come around every 6 months 2. high turn over rate 3. management doesn't care about the field hands. 4. adding work to your job and taking money away. 5. lowering your benefits 6. giving false information to you and when you repeat it you look stupid 7. management makes you do their work for them and if you don't then your made to stay home without work. 8. told you don't get tool bonuses since it is now included in your salary, which was lowered also. 9. treated like a little kid and made to use journey management and they don't speak english anymore. 10. I.T. help desk doesn't speak english anymore 11. H.R. is the same as above and are middle eastern and don't care about you or your safety. when you try to file a claim or grievance with H.R. they blow you off then lay you off.
