Pros

Training programme is really good for new hires. Its a little intense but worth it. Employees are usually exposed to new environments and challenges. Learning the ability to work and perform under pressure. Fairness in promotion. I think Schlumberger does not discriminate at all in the promotion of its employees.

Cons

Very bad work/life balance. (Field and office work). Since the work is tough, a lot of time is expected to be spent on work. This usually in the long run has adverse effects on the employees personal life. Employee morale is also sometimes low due to lack of recognition of work well done.

Pros

Hands-on culture, no geographical boundaries, expertise in Oil & Gas. SBC combines the best of 2 worlds: Management Consulting & Oil&Gas industry, with very diverse colleagues, from all over the world, very fun to work with.

Cons

A lot of time spent away from home, extensive traveling can have some downsides, the company pushes you to the limits to get he best out of you.
