      Opportunities to learn/advance Making products that help people Some coworkers are pretty cool

      Cons

      HR is nightmarish, will nickel-and-dime some employees but show favoritism to others. Lacking correlation between experience/performance and compensation New ideas and techniques generally aren’t implemented, even if they can increase productivity many employees are former criminals, some for violent crimes. Machine operators do a lot of the work but are not appreciated Speed limits around the plant are low and local police will hide in order to fine people going to work.

      Thank you for providing feedback on your experience at SMC. Our organization provides a consistent and fair wage structure, whereby pay is based on demonstrated performance, combined with knowledge, skills and abilities. As part of our hiring process, a formal background check is conducted through a third party administrator for all new hires. Additionally, our Continuous Improvement program allows any employee to offer continuous improvement suggestions through the employee boards, located in each work area. Once submitted, ALL ideas are considered and evaluated, but of course, not all can be implemented. Employee appreciation is front and center through our Exceeding Expectations program which recognizes any individual going above and beyond their regular day-to-day responsibilities.

      Pros

      The people that I worked with were very friendly and made the shifts go by faster. Supervisors were accommodating and flexible with my class schedule.

      Cons

      Upper management will run production with less production operators on machines to increase product output.

      Pros

      Literally cannot think of one.

      Cons

      Everything. You get 10 mins to run downstairs & across the entire building to take 3 drags of a cigarette & run back upstairs & be back on the line. Hope you like getting paid biweekly.

      Thank you for your feedback. As a company, we can only have a few designated smoking areas around our building to honor our non-smoking workforce as well. Our pay schedule information is provided to all of our candidates before hiring.
