      SMU is a very family-friendly yet professional place to work. It is growing fast and quickly building a reputation as a top notch school

      Cons

      A lot of the decision-making is still driven by considerations of a small private school that it was rather than the thriving academic institution it seeks to become. There is a need for a lot more transparency in the actions of top management.

      great benefits, a beautiful campus

      difficult to move up, management has little respect for student employees, not understanding with employee private and personal matters.

      Staff has a good amount of meritocratic freedom to directly affect the business and find individual ways to best contribute. Benefits package is strong, especially of you take advantage of tuition benefits.

      Cons

      What started as a liberal loose-and-fast academic style work environment evolved into a professional and highly conservative business. Current culture encourages narrow thinking, with little innovation.
