Terrible Morale

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Very few. The 8% match is pretty much the only one.

Cons

Very inflexible work environment, even for jobs that don’t require being on campus to do them. Low pay, no opportunity for advancement. Employee morale is very low. Brought employees back in the height of the pandemic—June 1, 2020. Extremely high turnover and short staffed, while refusing to refill positions of employees who’ve left. They’re basically in an unofficial hiring freeze.

Pros

Benefits are okay, but have gotten worse in the past few years. Some colleagues are good to work with.

Cons

Limited room for growth. No pay increases to match inflation, only small one-time merit bonuses. Focused purely on profit neglecting the health of staff. The mighty dollar above all else. If you think working in this university is somehow better than corporate America, think again. This university is run like a corporation circa 1980. No wonder there is such high staff turnover.

Good but not great for staff

Pros

There are great benefits with healthcare, 8% company match to 403b, tuition benefits for self, partner and children.

Cons

There is virtually no option for remote working, high turnover within many areas of the university, low pay compared to other organizations in the area. People come get a discounted masters or their kids through school and then leave.
