Pros
At my previous employer, I felt like I was part of a work family when I first joined. After a few years, however, things became more & more "corporate" feeling. I felt a lot more like a number than part of a team. I've now been with SMX for a few months and I feel like I'm back in a "work family" again. The company is small enough to care about their staff but large enough to compete with the big dogs. Management knows their people, regardless of their team size. The CEO has a genuine interest in the company, in the people, and the work we're doing. He's a great mentor to everyone. I feel very fortunate that I was selected to work for SMX. There isn't a day that goes by that I regret my decision to sign my offer letter.
