In my opinion, the company failed to provide the necessary tools and support for me to effectively perform my job, resulting in overtasking, feeling constantly overwhelmed, and extended working hours.
My manager claimed to have no time for employee performance reviews, discussions about pay raises, or career advancement conversations. I felt that this lack of support and guidance hindered my professional growth and left me feeling undervalued and unsupported.
The team was perpetually caught up in crisis management, with no downtime or opportunity to recharge. I believe that this continuous stream of chronic stress with little acknowledgment of our efforts and magnification of our mistakes created a toxic environment and hindered our career advancement.
The high turnover rate within our program was alarming. While turnover is common in any organization, the consistently short tenures of employees in their positions indicate a deeper mismanagement problem.
In conclusion, my time at SMX was extremely disheartening as I encountered a highly toxic work environment, inadequate tools and support, a lack of recognition for my efforts, and the constant burden of picking up the slack due to frequent employee turnover. These issues significantly impacted my morale and hindered my professional growth.
Unfortunately, I cannot in good conscience recommend SMX as an employer due to their failure to address these fundamental problems and cultivate a more positive work culture.
