Pros

-Chill coworkers -Foosball, pool, ping pong -Something you can put on your resume

Cons

-Horrible management. -Crooked reward system. Advancement favors those who get along well with management not by performance. -Discourage feedback. Those who speaks up are deemed to be antagonistic so therefore are less likely to advance. In my experience speaking up for new ideas will usually be shot down just because that's now how things were supposed to be. Worse, promises that changes will be made but never really happens. -Misguided promises. Talk of moving to on-site are often delayed indefinitely. Here’s my advice for newcomers if you wish to work for this company as an entry level QA engineer. -The name job title QA Analyst or QA Engineer does not mean you will really be ‘engineering’ or 'analyzing' anything. 90% of tasks can be done with basic knowledge of the computer and web browser. You will be 'executing test cases' or clicking through links. -Work here if you need the money and are desperate. Otherwise your time will be worth much more if you continue to find another job or build your experience on your own time to find a job. Trust me on this. -If you decide to work here, make friends quicks because that is the only way to keep you sane through hours of clicking through links. Don’t worry everyone here is the same boat as you. -Know that everyone is thinking about leaving as well, they’re all waiting for the right moment. -On the good side, you can take this as a learning experience because as you move on to other companies you will have an excellent example of how a company shouldn’t be ran.

Pros

Lots of room for growth within the company. I worked here many years ago when this SQAsquared was called SQA Resources and located in Brea and then during their move to Hawthorne. At the time, there were less than 10 employees total and the one thing that stuck out to me was how much the owner/CEO cared about training and investing in his employees. I remember thinking, this guy has a growth mindset and will take this company far.

Cons

Don't have much to complain about. This place is great for those looking to expand their QA careers

Pros

I will be the first to admit that when I see a problem, I bring it up. That being the case, I am also able to spend the time to recognize when an organization listens to their employees. That was the case here. There were some concerns about benefits that were raised with management, and they listened; they really listened. They took the time to explain why the benefits were setup as they were, and after some discussion, they recognized that it was appropriate to make some changes, and they did - simply, they did. The environment is very learning focused. Lots of opportunity to learn and grow.

Cons

Because the environment is very learning focused, it can feel like you are being micro-managed. They have this process that they refer to as "QC" which every new team member has to go through where everything is reviewed before it goes out - this takes some getting used to.
