Terrible Work Environment

Pros

Ability to work from home if your manager allows and casual dress are the only positive.

Cons

Management only cares about themselves and is only out for themselves. They do not care about employees and their well being and career. People are constantly leaving and they just push the already over loaded work on to others without a thought or care. Many employees have become physically ill due to the awful work environment and stress that people experience due to the overload of work. The CFO constantly says you can make money here.... sure if you are granted stock if not , you will not make a lot of money as the pay is not competitive at all. Just a terrible place to work.

Pros

Casual dress, free coffee, benefits like health insurance and vacation, 401K, $4,000 bonus for referring someone who gets hired there but why would you send a friend into an environment like this?

Cons

Poor management, lack of passion, lazy people face no consequences, no reward or recognition for people who actually work hard, good talent leaves, the CEO is a sloppy drunk...just wait for the Christmas party.

Not for me

Pros

You definitely learn a lot in a short amount of time; casual dress code; niche industry (which can be a good or bad thing)

Cons

First off, I worked as a fund accountant doing fund administration. This is a very specific area of accounting, which can be good for those looking to specialize in fund admin, but bad for those looking to keep their options open in accounting (if you stay here too long, all your experience will be in private-equity accounting and can be difficult to leverage this knowledge to other areas of accounting). Otherwise, I was not happy with the constant overtime, micro-management, client demands, and overwhelming work. The amount of responsibility given to non-management employees did not equate with the salaries. No wonder there's such a high turnover rate in the company. Most people don't make it past 2 years.
