Mission driven, but in dire need of HR overhaul

Pros

Good benefits, friendly work environment, faith based, high focus on patient safety, and technology driven.

Cons

High turn-over, only willing to pay in the 50th percentile, and seemingly questionable HR practices. While there are many very good and competent people in management positions, there are many that are not, and it doesn't appear that the organization takes note of it. When turn-over is so high, it would appear that measures should be taken to retain good leaders and not just focus so much on on-boarding.

Mission? Yes. Experts? Meh.

Pros

Mission-centric, truly feel as though they are doing "good" in the world. There are really some fantastic people working there that I'm privileged to have met.

Cons

The managers and decision makers in this organization are not experts. Their promotion policies seem to lean more towards boosting people that can be controlled like puppets and less about getting the best people for the job. They have a hard time investing money in becoming the experts, including providing industry-standard salaries.

Pros

Good pay. Excellent coworkers, direct managers and clinical nurse specialists. Hours/shifts can be flexible. For the most part, I feel like i have enough time to spend with patients (but I work night shift).

Cons

Top-heavy and management is slow to respond. Changes often come from the top with little to no feedback from the staff who are actually working with patients.
