Pros

The job is pretty chill! Buffalo is a great place! You will get amazing opportunities if you are on the right department! :)

Cons

Maybe because the job is based off at Buffalo, it might get a little boring haha! But as far as the actual work is concerned, it's a great place to work!

Working for the state is great is you don't expect high pay

Pros

Relaxed working environment - there are hardly any crucial deadlines, and you can go home and not have to think about work. The benefits for UUP members are still pretty great. You will not find better vacation time or retirement benefits elsewhere.

Cons

Being a union shop has its downside too, and that is that talented employees cannot earn more, and poor employees can not be let go. The recently approved contract promises lower wages and worse benefits.
