Pros

At first I loved my job, but then the company became very profit centric.

Cons

too many changes without proper transformational leadership. Poor leadership abilities from store managmetn and negligence when dealing with employee relations. COnflicts were ignored and strong minded women are not welcomed.

Pros

Very smart SVP business leadership. Strong local commitment. Potential for greatness if the leaders who have reached their "Peter Principle" can be removed.

Cons

Some leadership have been there so long, they've lost their drive and work to maintain status quo rather than deal with the very tough issues they confront. There is a strong element of cronyism in middle upper IT management holding back needed change and progress. Innovation is not rewarded.

Pros

If you've been around a while... you are more than likely making descent to good money. Benefits use to be phenominal and now are definitely descent. My sick/vacation time is good to great. Many people working have degrees in other areas yet stay because they have achieved a salary that exceeds what they went to school for.

Cons

Others have mentioned: Upper management don't practice what they preach when managing. More time and concern is in trying to upsell a customer rather than true customer service. Numbers in any category have been driven to the extent of Quartiles. If you are in the 4th quartile, you are a piece of @#$%. If you can't turn a number around and get out of that bottom quartile, then you have the constant threat of disciplinary action and possibility of losing your job. No true recognition of being a hard worker, comes from upper management. Too many good managers and good hard working people are going out on stress leave. "Achieving Management Excellence" is only taught at store level to department heads and Supervisors. Upper management does not excercise the management style.
