Pros

Safeway is great if you wanna get into the world of pharmacy and get licensed to become a technician. However, as the years have gone by there has been such a turn over rate and they have become desperate to just get "bodies" in the pharmacy. Unfortunately these new hires could pretty much get away with anything they please and don't even do what their job entitles....I'd say this comes down to management at the core of it since they aren't willing to effectively train their new employees. All the seasoned technicians are pretty much the ones trying to run things and the pressure of just those few people have drove them to look into other options. As far as pay in this company that's probably the only reason I've stuck with them so far....they give incentives to do vaccines to get paid more so you'll definitely see a higher pay than most other retail pharmacies. All in all I'd suggest if you work with Safeway to only look into it if you wanna start in pharmacy but once you can get out I say you should. The stress and frustration isn't worth your mental well being

Pros

Decent wage per hour and amount of hours available

Cons

No recognition for anything good only mistakes made, they play favorites, will cut hours and put more workload on employees, let certain people get away with violating company policy yet fire others

Pros

- Full-time employees receive excellent health care which includes dental - paid weekly - flexible schedule - can grow within the company if you want - raises given based on work performance

Cons

- Experience can vary drastically depending on who the store manager or GM for the area is. -If you have a terrible store manager, work could be hell, and there is nothing you can do about it unless you switch to a different location. - Employees with seniority get the first pick of shifts and full-time hours even if they are terrible at their job. - Job can be monotonous at times
