Pros

- Corp. HQ @ beautiful location - Fitness Center

Cons

- Cronyismm at its best. 1) Quick advancement and "protection" when family members are at top-level positions - (i.e. through mother/father at exec-levels, married to someone at management level, best friends with top-level mgmt or HR, etc.) aka "golden empty suits". It's no longer achievement through merit alone - academically or professionally - in being recognized/appreciated or even supported. 2) (Especially if you are not well connected) your staff and coworkers will not respect nor listen to you, unless you have the backing from these "golden empty suits". Very political! 3) If you are not aligned with your manager's thoughts, objectives, views, etc. you will be ignored, shunned, ousted (at the mildest sense). If you still "own your thoughts and opinions" and not yet conformed with your manager's values/views, do expect to be "squeezed" out of a job. She will make it VERY difficult for you to work there! "You and your opinions/values are not appreciated nor considered - just agree and follow whatever they think" 4) Expect to be "re-programmed", if you want to be "happy" and last there.

Pros

Overall, the people here are nice and helpful. The business seems to be stable, even in the economic downturn. The location is great and the gym and cafeteria are very nice amenities.

Cons

Working here I feel like I've gone back in time 20 years because the systems are antiquated, "face-time" and politics are the only ways to get ahead, and pro-employee benefits like telecommuting and a relaxed dress-code are frowned upon. In addition, the CEO along with Sr. management rule with an "I know what's best for you", command and control approach. Fresh ideas from outsiders are often stifled by a stale, unwavering bureaucracy of senior leaders. Wages are not competitive and meaningful recognition is few and far between, unless you happen to be one of the chosen few. Lastly, I am shocked by the overwhelming amount of poor leaders (i.e. micro-managing, condescending, bullying, self-serving) in this organization. It's clear that recognizing, developing and empowering people is not the focus here!

Pros

Reasonable benefits, easy to get hired, customers are great, non-management jobs are pretty low key and not too many expectations.

Cons

Micro managed to an insane degree, very top down management, no team work is in place or encouraged, management does not treat anyone like peers only like underlings, gossip mill is very busy,
