Pros

Safeway offers many opportunities to those who are just starting out and want a job. With many types of management opportunities and a number of departments anyone can find a position they enjoy. Safeway offers certain educational credits for certain colleges and they are willing to work with your schedule.

Cons

It takes a very long time to get any kind of pay increase. Courtesy Clerks and Help Clerks all start out at minimum wage and that's where you stay. To climb a pay scale you must become a journeyman, checker or get into management.
