Pros

You can get promoted very fast. I was promoted from a cashier to a head clerk (21.53$/h) in one year. Having the union is a plus.

Cons

Gosh, where to start. The company is so strict on their employees, when it comes to wearing the Safeway shirt and the black slacks, you might get fired for braking this policy. If you get caught with you cell you would get fired. the list goes on and on, you have to try it yourself to see how miserable everyone is.

Some nice co-workers/managers and customers.

Cons

Every week the hours change - no set schedule. Too much gossip going on. If there is a problem (union involved) it takes 3 or more months to get it looked into/solved. If they do not like you - they will do all they can to get rid of you - especially those under the old contract. Expect a lot - give little!
