- Still very formal and conservative retail culture (even the dress code)
- Top down management style (Courage is one of the competencies that is encouraged in the individual development program book. However, it is known to backfire in reality)
- Many red tapes and approval needed to get things done
- Many meetings, process, procedures and reports that can be streamlined and consolidated to save company's resources and employees' time
- Reactive environment rather than proactive/creative
- Silo driven (getting a little better than before)
- Uneven workload and salary (some functions/departments in the companies seem to have much shorter days than others)
- Many unhappy and burned out employees
- Starting to lose hardworking, core and experienced employees
- Many newly promoted managers lack experience but the company doesn't seem to have a choice because slowly the experienced ones find better jobs externally
- Benefits is getting worse each year for the last few years (you and/or your family will have to pay more for medical vs before)
- Pension was decreased to half what it used to be a few years back
- No 401K matching
- Very political (yes I know big companies are like that but this one is exceptional)
