Pros

If you've been around a while... you are more than likely making descent to good money. Benefits use to be phenominal and now are definitely descent. My sick/vacation time is good to great. Many people working have degrees in other areas yet stay because they have achieved a salary that exceeds what they went to school for.

Cons

Others have mentioned: Upper management don't practice what they preach when managing. More time and concern is in trying to upsell a customer rather than true customer service. Numbers in any category have been driven to the extent of Quartiles. If you are in the 4th quartile, you are a piece of @#$%. If you can't turn a number around and get out of that bottom quartile, then you have the constant threat of disciplinary action and possibility of losing your job. No true recognition of being a hard worker, comes from upper management. Too many good managers and good hard working people are going out on stress leave. "Achieving Management Excellence" is only taught at store level to department heads and Supervisors. Upper management does not excercise the management style.

Pros

Management is usually good about giving requested time off. Flexible with hours. Rate of pay is decent for line of work. Benefits are decent.

Cons

Upper management has little to no contact with store level employees. The only feedback given is negative. The new customer service program is insulting to both employees and customers. Your entire experience with the company is based on store level management. A good or bad relationship with them will either save or endanger your job, regardless of job performance.
