      Pros

      I always felt personal rushes when I see the financial reports and hear from approving customers and employees they demonstrate to me how great my store could run at times. There's no better source for exhiliration in a professional environment that I have found.

      Cons

      Often times it's a thankless job. People are quick to point out what's wrong while providing minimal recognition for when accompdations are made for their particular issues. Work/life balance is often askew as well.

      Pros

      Safeway has great benefits. You have medical, dental, vision, 401K, stock options, retirement after invested 5 years. Wide variety of retail jobs at store level. Opportunity for growth is excellent. Flexible hours.

      Cons

      Safeway is to quick to hire and promote without giving proper time for evaluating that individual. I have seen more employees quickly moved to PIC's where there is a huge conflict in being a manager and knowing how to manage store employees. A great deal of immaturity has spread with new PIC's, not enough close supervision on what is exactly going on with PIC's performance with employees. I am disappointed to see the group of PIC's we have at our store perform with such unprofessionalism and immaturity throughout the staff and store.

      Safeway is a great place to work if you don't mind a varied work schedule.

      Pros

      Pay, Benefits, and Flexibility of Schedule for hourly (non-salried) employees.

      Cons

      As management the hours are long, you need to be willing to relocate, and it's difficult to be family oriented when you work nights, weekends, and holidays.
