Pros

I really like the people i work with and the scheduling is flexible but that works both ways. Benefits are impressive probably thanks to the union, health insurance only takes about five dollars out of your paycheck a week and it's coverage isn't bad for these days. After 5 years of service you get 3 weeks of paid vacations pretty good for a company like this. Once you hit 12 years you get 4 weeks off a year. You get paid every week

Cons

You never know what they are going to do with your schedule. I put that i am full time on here because i have averaged close to 40 hours a week for the last 5 years. Technically nearly nobody is full time status so they can suddenly schedule you less hours so if your depending on 40 that can be a little nerve racking. A proposed merger has led to the company taking drastic cuts in the amount of hours they will schedule in a week recently, many employees are getting upset about the amount of hours they get and that all depends on your position. If your a checker and you want 40 hours you better be available around the clock and willing to stay late to cover call outs and such. You will also be better off being trained in multiple departments if you want to get hours as well. Before i was a meat cutter i did Dairy, checking, starbucks barista and the liquor department so i was able to pull off 40 hours. As a meat wrapper it's easier to get more hours especially sense i am the only meat wrapper in my store. Meat Dep is all on their own, so you wont get called to bag or check which is a good thing actually . If you have experience or do well in a non entry level job like a meat wrapper pay is ok if you push for it but i found you have to say something otherwise they will just pay you close to minimum wage. Raises dont seem to be scheduled like other large companies you have to ask for one to get one from what i have noticed . I am only paid fairly because i spoke up a couple times and got a 2 dollar an hour raise twice in the last 4 years but i had to say something to get them.

Pros

Busy stores will give you plenty of overtime.

Cons

No benefits for part-time workers. Useless Union that takes money from your pay check every week. The employees are overworked and you won't get any training.
