Pros

They worked with your schedule so it was easy to be a student

Cons

The management was awful. They didn’t genuinely care about their employees. Each department was different, I had problems with both managers in both departments I worked for but specifically in the Starbucks department. My manager was consistently talking to other employees about other employees. She gave no flexibility with schedules and micromanaged everyone. She always expected us to work super hard all the time but would sit in the management office for hours every shift saying she was working on the schedule. If she didn’t like you personally she would kick you into another department without talking to you about it. She didn’t respect pronouns for my co worker. I consistently felt scared to go to work because she would bring in her feelings of her personal life into the kiosk. She also did a terrible job training and had no patients for new employees.

Pros

The Starbucks kiosk itself was nice to work for.

Cons

Low pay Poor management Store manager insulted and berated employees for calling in sick, even when they had Covid. Because of this attitude in the upper management, there were employees who would work even when sick with infectious illnesses, handling food and helping customers. They were afraid of getting fired for calling in sick. The store manager also turned a blind eye to certain employees repeatedly displaying aggressive and inappropriate behavior. Two examples are: one employee had a habit of blocking the exit to the restroom so she could scream at her coworkers and would not allow them to exit the restroom to return to work until she was done with her angry tirades. Another employee regularly screamed at coworkers and customers, and faced no consequences. This created a hostile work environment for everyone else.
