Pros

-Compensation is decent -Coworkers are nice and friendly

Cons

-Paid time off is rarely honored or approved. My wedding and honeymoon was denied despite requesting time off 18 months in advance! Management stated they never received it, even though there was time-stamped proof. -Pharmacists often work alone. It makes even using the bathroom on a 12-hour solo shift extremely difficult. I often work an entire 12-hour shift without eating at all, and squeezing maybe one bathroom break in! -District Pharmacy Managers are out of touch with reality, often only coming in to the pharmacy to scold pharmacists. -A lot of turnover for pharmacists. I've never worked for a company where pharmacists leave within months of being hired. -Paychecks are inaccurate at times, and are not corrected until the following week; this is despite the errors being the fault of Safeway administration.

Pros

Mentoring individuals on how to manage all aspects of retail grocery while instilling the importance on respecting your employees

Cons

The lack of integrity of district and division managers. The norm is intimidation, retaliation and threats. They talk about quality of work and home life while requiring 12 + work days and night visits to check up on employees. This company is going to suffer irreparable damage when all the experienced managers have had enough and the exodus out begins, and it has started. Val Elliot is one of the worst.
