Pros

*Sage manages a lot of hotels- pretty good travel discounts

Cons

*Home office is crazy out of touch *Talks about DNA/ Culture, and then nothing is ever implemented at the property level *The on-property HR was a joke. What they chose to focus on vs. what needed to be focused on were completely opposite. When asked questions about SOP's and Sage-related items, they never knew the correct answer which is unacceptable. *Always talk about wanting to help managers grow, but then GM and HR never help with growth opportunities.

Pros

The people on-property are largely wonderful people and a joy to work with.

Cons

The Corporate office is brutally cut-throat and will work you as hard as you let them before discarding you at the first sign of faltering. I worked in the home office for about 9 months to rave reviews from peers and business partners. Over the summer, I took emergency leave to get my mother life-saving care, which was initially encouraged and supported by senior leadership. When my mother recovered, and I returned to work, I was fired for not getting the job done while I was gone. I mean, if you can’t do your job when your mom is dying, when can you do it, right? HR later confirmed to me that because I wasn’t on protected family leave at the time, I was still responsible for the work. The thing is, Sage was legally obligated to let me know my rights around Colorado’s FAMLI Act within 5 days of learning about leave that would qualify for protection (mine qualified). They never did, and I didn’t learn about the FAMLI Act until after I was fired. Later, the leader who initially supported my leave was also fired. I have an active complaint with the State for Colorado FAMLI Act violations.
