Pros

Sage has properties that are up and coming and is in a growth spurt, may have opportunities for some.

Cons

there is no common Sage culture from one property to another. I have worked with great people and with horrible people. used to think Sage had a stong family culture and strong commitment to stated values, but it turned out to be one particular property. another Sage property had none of it: across the board top management showed proof of great dishonesty, hr not looking out for employees, quick to fire, fire for illegal reasons, badmouthing gm and hotel - overall, causing you to look over your shoulder...

Pros

local icon, heavily supported by locals. most staff members good people, still greeted with enthusiasm and affection when I come in.

Cons

Nepotism raises its ugly head. Favoritism is rampant. Written warnings are fabricated. Management has a recurring habit of getting rid of anyone they feel is threatening their position. Upper management has no clue how to handle a restaurant (hotel) so they can't be bothered with the truth as they don't know what to do with it.

Unethical and Immoral

Pros

They have a decent portfolio of hotels

Cons

I can't give ZERO star so I had to at least give it 1 star. don't know how to treat employees. Confusing initiatives. corporate office hotel side and corporate office food and beverage side don't agree on goals for hotels or initiatives. upper/senior management don't care about employees. while change is normal in any industry or hotel, this company can't figure out what direction it wants to go on top of senior level leadership never sticking to initiatives...spends money without looking at budget and then wants to know you can't meet bottom line budgets. Pretty horrendous turnover rates...unless you kiss some serious *** don't expect to grow your career

Sage Hospitality Response

I am sorry to hear of your concerns about Sage as we do take our reputation very seriously. I would never consider any of our Senior Leaders as immoral or unethical as we always strive to be open, honest and have full integrity. If that is not what you experienced then I truly hope you were honest during your exit interview so that we can make changes and improve. Our Associates are key to the success of our company and I truly value each and every one of them. I would appreciate any specific feedback you have at any time. I wish you the best in your career.
