      Becoming a dictatorship

      Pros

      Immediate engineering team was strong, smart with passionate people. Technology stacks are reasonable modern in pockets.

      Cons

      Sage lacks coherent product strategy. Senior leadership seems to flip directions every quarter, which results in our roadmap being pulled, reworked or cancelled frequently. Culture change felt reactive rather than strategic. Lots of references to how Microsoft operated from 10 years ago from ex Microsoft colleagues in management. Seems like the Sage vision was just management trying to recreate Microsoft here. Mandatory office attendance (3 days/week) enforced even if nearest office is a long commute and impractical.

      Sage Intacct is an exceptional company to work for. Great engineers working on a great product. Great location in downtown San Jose.

      1. It is a good company to work for. 2. I do not face too much politics. 3. Managers are technical. 4. Remote work is supported

      Cons

      1. Health Insurance can be better. 2. Flexibility to work from "out of the country" can be made better.
