Pros

I joined SailPoint many years ago because I have worked in Identity over 20 years and this company is the last one left that is considered a market leader in both product and delivery that has not been bought up by a larger company or as part of a larger non-identity portfolio. This leads to a focused effort of creating the best products and mastering the expertise of how to implement it.

Cons

SailPoint has continued to grow through its success and with growth comes to a certain loss of culture. You can't have growth like SailPoint has experienced without sacrificing some of the tight, small-team, family style atmosphere used to enjoy. Teams still handle it within themselves, which is a testament to leadership at the team level recognizing the importance of it, which is great. At least it's not forgotten or ignored, but just more of a challenge to maintain.

Pros

Flexible work environment. Fully remote. Friendly environment.Nice CEO. Beautiful headquarters. Free lunches and snacks in the office.

Cons

Silent layoffs are a frequent occurrence within the company. Career advancement is often determined more by personal likability than by genuine competence or merit. The culture is excessively rule-bound, where new ideas are perceived as threats to the established order, and rigid adherence to processes takes precedence over innovation, creativity, and meaningful change. The organization exhibits a cult-like environment, heavily fixated on surveys and reviews (literally instructing employees to write good reviews), particularly from new employees who may lack the broader context and understanding to provide informed feedback. Constructive disagreement is discouraged, and conformity is implicitly demanded. The company consistently prioritizes process over tangible results, creating an atmosphere where engineers feel apprehensive about voicing concerns regarding inefficiencies or systemic problems.
