shady and confusing place of business

Pros

Some good people there. Pay is good if you got your scratching the right backs.

Cons

everything is a big secret. If your not in the in-crowd you won't go far. job skills don't mean squat as far as getting raises. Upper management degrades workers and treats you as if your not worth being informed. And if you are informed it is just a mask to cover up what is really going on in the company. Lots of partiality shown and alliances formed.

Don't derail your career with this train wreck

Pros

There are still a few great people there but that won't last long if senior management/ownership stays on their current path.

Cons

Senior management in charge has no respect for employees or managers but requires respect from them. The culture is one of extreme micromanagement where the President spends most of the time snooping in people's email boxes and personal business outside of work than even attempting to solve the real business issues at hand. If an employee is not best friends with senior management/owners they won't be there long. The rules and policies are supposed to be made by employees but are dictated by the President and carried out by the President's sycophants. There are daily demonstrations of senior management's belief that they know more than anyone else. It is a common occurrence for employees and managers alike to be demeaned and belittled by senior management in front of groups of their co-workers. Business market strategy is determined by what new book has been read and how senior management twists the theory to fit their particular needs. It's all about putting money in the pockets of the President with no regard for the loyal employees and managers who work hard day in and day out just trying to make a living and keep their jobs. Senior management in charge only thinks about what they see, think, believe, need, understand. So much time is spent blaming mid-level management for the problems created and further exacerbated by senior management. The level of drama is equal to an episode of Empire. The level of distrust and game playing is equal to Game of Thrones. The customers aren't even treated with respect.

If you have been on the receiving end of such treatment, I am truly sorry. The success of any system is the product of all people involved in that system working together. It is a shame that you feel there is a different belief structure in place. There are no people who's opinions are more important than others, there are simply some people more willing to speak up. Your input on fixing the issues you see is welcome and necessary so please make suggestions on how to better the process. If your suggestions aren't heard, repeat them or restate them or say them to another manager. We all are a work in process and trying to be better everyday.

Pros

Its a stepping stone to the next job.

Cons

It's really sad to see how far this company has slid down the slope when it comes to taking care of those who take care of them. They build their city of gold while the "soldiers" that protect it are looked down upon as if they are useless. Some do better than others working for them. From my stand point, people are not paid what they are truly worth, with the exception of the owners.I agree that they take the greatest risk and should make good money.I would also agree that their skill set has helped make me money but they need to understand mine has made them rich beyond their wildest dreams. They are certainly living alot better on my skills than I am living on theirs. The company is just a few big moves away from being a good place to work.At the same time, they are just a few moves away from having major league problems.I think that if they don't do something to entice their production employees to want to stay and want to work, the turn over rate is going to show in the quality. That's when the downhill slide will get out of control and they will hit the bottom harder than they ever imagined.

I really appreciate your feedback and you make some very good points. You hit on two very big issues that are currently being looked at...pay rates and production turnover rates. If you have suggestions as to how to address either of these in an effective manner, we would love to hear them. Thanks again for the feedback.
