There is so much inbreeding that national searches are a joke. For instance, they had a national search for a provost - and lo and behold, they hired someone from the inside - a small man with a small mind....no vision, no imagination, and a limited world view. They had a national search for a president, and lo and behold, they hired someone from the inside - Dana Gibson is great with alumni and finances, but depends on the "little man" for academic decisions, and he's clueless. When they finally got someone good from the outside, the dean of fine arts and mass communication - someone who had vision, who cared about the faculty and students, who instituted positive changes...they did everything they could to make her life hard and it finally made her ill enough to resign. This is a fourth rate institution and with its lack of leadership, will remain mediocre.

The scheduling is completely messed up. Half of the people here have no idea what they are doing. If they mess up they blame the workers below them.
