Pros

-No one's going to make six figures in the call center...but it's a call center. The work is really quite easy and doesn't (or shouldn't) take a long time to master. -The expectations are far more lenient than any other call center I've ever worked in...and on top of that the pay is higher than most call centers. -Some of the customers are difficult, but the nasty ones are rare. Most are really great to talk to, and what's great about being a promoted AE is having your own set of customers to build relationships with. This is a great job if you're a 'people person'! -LOTS of opportunities to move to different departments if you don't want to stay on the phones.

Cons

-I've heard it said that if you have a pulse and can pass a drug test, you can get a job in the call center. I've taken too many calls from customers who were transferred to me because they didn't feel like the previous rep knew what they were doing. The new trend of rushing people through training seems to be a detriment. -There needs to be a larger expectation of computer skills for incoming employees. This is 2012, there is no excuse for having to call IT for the same 30-second problem over and over. -Supervisors in training should be more experienced, employees who have been there less than a year should not be eligible.

Pros

Employees can purchase Inexpensive t-shirts and clothing. Some employees work from home.

Cons

Very poor middle management. Call center stuck in the 80s and run like a nursery school. The virtue of "niceness" prevails but effectiveness is frowned upon. IT totally out of touch of needs of customers and employees. Pay is poor for work performed.

Perception is not reality

Pros

The company overall is solid. It has plenty of dedicated people and exceptional owners working to make it a good place to work and a great company to do business with.

Cons

The one glaring flaw at the company is the IT department. Everyone knows there are problems but instead of focusing on them they are focusing on perception. Perception is not reality. Too much time is spent trying to spin every failure into some sort of accomplishment or opportunity. There is a lack of leadership so there are many mission statements, strategies and posturing, but still nothing is getting done.
