Pros

The direct care clinicians who engage face to face with the clients are wonderful with an inviting and pleasant atmosphere.

Cons

I would give the company less stars if I could but this would be a disservice to the front line workers administering group care. The primary con to working at this position with this company in this location would clearly be inept management. Upper management spends hours on meaningless fluff tasks such as fetching snacks for clients and a sparse few words for clinicians in dire need of support. It is, perhaps, the fourth circle of Dante’s hell.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for recognizing the care and commitment of our frontline clinicians, they truly make a difference every day. We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t feel as supported as it should have. Feedback like yours helps us keep strengthening communication, leadership consistency, and the day-to-day support our teams rely on. We appreciate your time with us and wish you the very best moving forward.

Pros

Most of the non-leadership coworkers are down to earth and are in it for the right reasons. They don’t typically penny pinch on supplies and you will get food sometimes! Some of the offices are pretty nice.

Cons

Management is hit and miss. Some are pretty cocky for the lack of skills/experience they bring to the table. Upper management couldn’t care less about you or about the people you serve and they call all the shots. It’s ALL about profit, at the expense of employee and patient welfare. They will accept anyone to fill beds/spots which makes other clients and staff be placed in dangerous/unrealistic positions. Churn and burn with high acuity. Severely overworked (insane case load sizes although they advertise otherwise; travel therapists included), stressful (which is to somewhat be expected but I’m talking about preventable issues that are ignored), and underpaid (according to market standards and just paying someone with a masters degree). The entire onboarding process was a pretty wild experience and unnecessarily long. If you are hoping to help others while just making enough to survive like I was, unfortunately this isn’t the place. They will be sure to burn you out before you reach their 6 month threshold to get paid training. It’s been extremely disappointing, mostly due to their potential.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We really do appreciate the thought and care behind your feedback. We know this work can be both deeply meaningful and incredibly demanding, and we’re always looking for ways to make sure our teams feel supported. Just to add a little context around caseloads: in similar behavioral health settings, therapists often carry between 20 and 40 clients per week. At Sandstone Care, our therapists hold a caseload of up to 12 clients. We’ve structured it this way intentionally so clinicians can focus on deeper therapeutic work and maintain a better balance between quality care and sustainability. We know things like communication and workload balance can always improve, and we’re continuing to strengthen collaboration and feedback loops across teams. If you have specific ideas that you think we should consider, please reach out to your supervisor. We appreciate your contributions and your commitment to client care, it truly makes a difference.
