Pros

Smart people, great benefits, good ethic. The best is the management. Great scientists and assistants are on point. Everyone is Very good to work with.

Cons

The reorganization was difficult and led to many established connections to fall apart. Training and development is needed during a reorganization to nail what is expected.

Pros

Truly patient focused. Genzyme was a pioneer in rare diseases when no one else cared. Now even big pharma is in. You felt that your work mattered. Unbelievable products (the ones from rare diseases) that made a huge difference in patients' lives. When there was a supply crisis everyone worked extra hard to get the drugs to the patients. Good compensation and benefits.

Cons

Some Sr Managers from the early days got there by luck and not competence. Poor resource allocation. Too much cash spent on lousy acquisitions that never paid off. That diverted resources away from securing the sustainability of the core business, which was rare diseases. Unfortunately the result was a large drop on the share price, opening the door to activist investors that ultimately sold it to Big Pharma. A pity in my view.

Pros

Company has good values and culture. Tough to maintain work life balance as because pressure is always on but not impossible. Seems like the company spends lots of resources on peoples skill development which is a good thing i.e training in Sanofi-Aventis is very interactive and the environment they created is hats off , good job. Upper Leadership from the label of NSM and higher I found they are very energetic, motivating and target oriented which I found are good leadership qualities, but I had very few interactions with the upper management. As far as HR policies are concern they are good "but you need to be smart to use those". Company has good product portfolio, many of the brands are research based and well established. Company has a good equity among the customers . To summarize 1- Good Culture and Values (on paper) 2- Good upper management 3- Good brand value 4- Good place to learn on lot of subjects lol...

Cons

Bitter experience as far as lower management is concern. Does not have any management qualities(very few people have). Specially the ABMs. I think very few deserving candidates have been promoted to that post but most of them are undeserving . I get a feeling these people are good in one thing for sure is buttering and they want us follow the same! what to expect. These people do not know the word "motivation" . You will always find their work demotivating , their behavior is very rude and always remains in a fault finding mode. You will never enjoy their company. They create a very hostile environment for working. The worst part even RBMs support them . Wait! there is a silver lining not all ABMs and RBMs are like that. Specially in Diabetes and Mass therapy there is a very high degree of inflation in market and the ABMs and RBMs seems to be supporting it because for them number is every thing. People end up with leaving job because they are exhausted after giving adjustments from their salary and incentives. I found, despite of all the above pros the company is more management friendly, I feel they really don't care about the field staffs who bring the cake for them. If you think why this guy has written so many of pros is because the company is a MNC and all the values and culture comes from the global head office. Compensation I would say is okay but company needs to review it seriously soon.To summarize 1- Hostile working environment (resulting in bad productivity) 2- End up with leaving the job because for giving adjustments to the stockist. 3- Lower management not efficient and does not have the ability to handle pressure and can not motivate people. 4- Field staff will find it suffocating because all the pressure will be on them. 5- Compensation is very okay kind of not up to MNC standards. 6- No adequate rewards for achieving some thing extra.
