Pros

Initial insurance training were awesome Welcome kit and perks given during year end Great manager(in my case) Great place to work for longer durations like 10yrs min Ask for recommendations on how to improve their products Have a great range of products Have some of the best companies as clients

Cons

Usage of old or vintage technologies Least supportive team members they are even reluctant to help in work environment set up I was soo unlucky that my team members were soo unsupportive and their behaviour was so toxic and discouraging and they were even reluctant to help me out in learning their proprietary language (spml for Java developers) Most of the work revolves around their own language (spml) it will take atleast 6months to get a high level understanding of the same For an intermediate level understanding it will take ages They have their own programming language for product development which is not at all useful in career The recruiter will try to negotiate regarding salary during recruitment we will be trapped if we agree to them. They try to give the least salary even though they have a budget twice or thrice of what the recruiter has offered initially

Pros

Left to work on projects without being micromanaged. Was able to work from home 2 days a week (pre covid), although I think this was quite rare in the company.

Cons

The core sapiens products use very dated bespoke technology. If you're fortunate as I was, you may get to work solely on third party client greenfield projects and make your own technology decisions. I would not have stayed long if I'd had to work on the core products, as your tech strength would weaken and become tailored to sapiens specific dated technology over time. There is almost no progression and pay is low compared to market rates. Pay rises were at most 2% regardless of how well your performance reviews were. One time my pay review was 0, despite a near perfect performance review (and the company was doing well financially at the time). After I left they were subject to a ransomware attack and handed over my bank details to criminals. This was because of their move to remote working during covid. This again highlights their use of primitive technology, even in their IT department.
