I applied for 2nd shift forklift op. The reason being, I have a medical issue where I have to do to see a doc every morning Mon-Thursday. So working 1st shift was basically impossible. Them knowing that, they still stuck me on first shift for over a month for training. This was extremely difficult for me to make it back in town from my clinic visits (which were 30 min away in the next town of Greenville) so I was rushing every morning trying to avoid speeding tickets and I was clocking in around 7:00-7:03am every day . I was getting flagged in HR for clocking in so close to the late mark (7:05) THEY DOCKED ME FOR THIS!!! KNOWING MY SITUATION. So then, my “manager” pulls me into the office one Friday and tells me he’s gonna go ahead and switch me to my shift, which they put me on 3rd shift for some reason, I did not apply for that position. I applied for the 2nd shift position that they posted) but it was fine bc I would get off work at 7:30 am and would be able to go to the Doc and just go home after and sleep. Well, in the meeting, he tells me that my new schedule would now be Monday-Friday…. Off every other weekend and now my off day during the week is switching from Wednesday to Thursday’s. Ok! Perfect. So I go to work the following week and start night shift, Thursday comes around and I stay home, since it was my new off day. (So I thought). I come back to work Friday and management pulls me to the side and asks where I was the day before. I, in the most confused way, say…. “At home, it was my day off”
Well, apparently not! My “manager” had scheduled me to work a full week straight and I had no clue about it since he said that my new off days were now Thursday’s. So… long story short, they docked me with a no call no show. I HAVE NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE HAD A NO CALL NO SHOW. And now… after all this… THEY FIRED ME! Terrible way to treat an employee that was struggling to make it to work everyday but managed even though y’all knew about my medical situation from the jump, and then the miscommunication for the “no call no show” I AM THOROUGHLY UPSET ABOUT THIS. Something out of my control, 100% YALLS FAULT is to why I got fired. I do take responsibility for my 2 call ins. But I would now be getting fired if it wasn’t for those all those “tardies” that should not have been counted against me and especially the no call no show. This is absolutely absurd. Y’all should have never stuck me on first shift for training. When there were other trainers available for the later shifts. I know this because there were multiple new hires just a week after myself that got out on those later shifts. Y’all did me so wrong. I’ve never been so upset in my life about a workplace.
