Cons
People in leadership are often underqualified. A lot of hiring upper level roles based on network, especially in Ohio. Too many people in roles they would not have if they had to interview with no connection. Hesitancy for inexperienced leaders to not hire employees who have greater depth of exposure and experience. Lots of working in silos and duplicating effort. Incentivises political maneuvering above work output, limiting growth for competent people while advancing those with connections. Lack of value for successful work
