Pros

There are great people that run the company but to much paper work for the small things. Safety is a good thing at most places and safety will always be my number one priority no matter where I work.

Cons

Some of the things about safety is if you get in a wreck in a company truck or car you talk about how it happened why it happened or what can we do to make it not happen again. At Savage they pull you in a meeting room about talk about it with all the safety bosses and then you go through all the steps how it happened. And this could be any where from 8 to 15 people. Then once you start talking about it they start by pointing fingers like they have never been in a wreck or never had a ticket or they never use there rear view mirror's. Also they have one guy on the phone that never does anything wrong like he never walks on the track on his cell phone. This is a way to through you under the bus as many times as they can without firing you. Or there looking for a way to fire you. They always want you to work as safely as possible like you should always do, but anymore your scared to even do anything even your job. It's like one of the guys that lives in Ogden,Ut he wants to be the boss so bad it hurts. But he is the one that is making it unsafe to work. We were on a job that was along way away from home and he had to call the big boss every hour to find out what we needed to do next. But he was always putting us in harms way of getting us hurt or killed. He is also the reason why I transfered to a different part of the company far away from him. And the other thing that is bad about the company is when you have a leader that goes around telling every guy on your crew that he makes $29.00 plus an hour and the rest of us make $16.00 or less an hour is not right. There has been so many days that we have been working between 15 to 24 hrs without a break that this guy gets so mad that he just finds away to go to the office or to the store for a few hours to take a nap. Pay washes need to change because you are going to have workers quitting left and right. Thanks

Pros

I have been impressed with the professionalism of this company, I know there have been a lot of changes within the department I will be working in, they had a survey go out with pros and cons and how to get this better taken care of. I was very pleased with the interview process, it was easy and smooth, started with one person, the CFO came in briefly and then the controller was going to but he wasn't able to. I was told they would make a decision in the next week. Did take about 2 1/2 weeks, however they were doing month-end, quarter-end etc., and wanted to get me in the door, I'm starting out with a little less than full time, however I told them for myself to stay I needed a 40 hour work week right away. I like the way everyone works together and if there are questions, one of them are more than helpful to get you the answer or help you find the answer, all are fairly new except for one person

Cons

The only challenges I see right now is the fact that I don't really know what my "specific job description is", I just know that I am there initially to go over audits, help get reports and things done that people haven't had time to get done while they do some reconfiguration then I'll have a better idea.

Pros

Decent pay for my area. Flexable family work schedule.

Cons

Very poor insurance. No medical leave. Had to use vacation when I had to take off for surgery. Supervisor didn't do much of anything but drive around. I've never worked for a company where the supervisor had no paper work at the end of the day and not accountable for anything. Supervisors and management rarely follow employees suggestions or ideas. Preventive maintenance is pretty much unheard of at our operation. It has to be a catastrophic failure for the mech to fix.
