Pros

They don't usually fire people because no one wants to work there

Cons

Value village was my first employer out of high school and after working there for a year I was fed up, the store I was at had ridiculous fluctuations in hours one week I would get 30 hours the next it would be 12. the pay was absolutely terrible likely minimum wage regardless of where you live. I've had two job since then and can honestly say value village take advantage of their employees.

Pros

- Discount - Always something to do, keeps you on your toes - 7:30 am start time but also done by 4 pm, so you have the whole rest of the day to do other things - Two paid 15 minute breaks - Almost all weekends off (Mon-Fri plus the odd pre-sale shift Sat/Sun) - Active management involvement

Cons

- Active, physical work can take a toll on the body - Lots of dirt and dust (especially bad for those with asthma and/or allergies) - On-call for at least the first few months with few scheduled days - Part-time with full-time hours but no benefits
